Description: The City of Prospect Heights, Illinois, requests proposals from qualified firms to develop and implement a lake management and weed/algae control program for Hillcrest Lake. The Lake is man-made and is approximately 14 acres. The Lake experienced a dense growth of Elodea, or American Waterweed, during the summer of 2015, and the City has subsequently contracted for control and reduction of vegetation. Other treatments have targeted curly leaf and sago pond weeds. Only proposals from experienced and professional contractors will be considered. Scope of Work It shall be the responsibility of the successful contractor to comply with any necessary Illinois National Pollution Discharge Elimination System Permit Process before any applications can be made. Products used must be Federal Insecticide, Fungicide and Rodenticide Act compliant and approved for use in aquatic systems by the Federal Environmental Protection Agency. Contractor must be licensed and registered with the Illinois Department of Agriculture. Selection The City reserves the right, at its sole option, to make selectin of the firm, or to reject any and all firms. Revisions and/or Additional Provisions The City reserves the right to revise any article or clause of the Request for Proposal, or to add or delete any article or clause, prior to the award of the contract.
