1,000,000 Gallon Toroellipse Exterior Overcoat Dry Interior Partial Repaint Cathodic Protection System And Miscellaneous Repairs Tank Information: The structure is a 1,000,000-gallon toroellipse elevated water storage tank with an estimated low-water level of 60 ft. located at 301 Charles St. in Charles City, Iowa. The work includes: Exterior: High pressure water clean (5,000 to 10,000 psi) and spot power tool clean to a SSPC-SP11 standard. Apply a three (3) coat epoxy urethane fluoropolymer system. Dry Interior: Abrasive blast clean the entire bowl and entire exterior of the wet riser and spot coating failures throughout to a SSPC-SP6 commercial standard. Apply a three (3) coat epoxy system to the wet riser and bowl and a spot two (2) coat aluminum system to the rest of the prepared surfaces. Wet Interior - Alternate: Abrasive blast clean to a SSPC-SP10 near-white metal standard. Apply a three (3) coat zinc epoxy system. Apply a polyurethane caulk to the roof lap seams. Foundation: Water clean and apply a two (2) coat epoxy system. Cathodic Protection: Install an impressed current cathodic protection system. Repairs: 1) Replace the riser manway gasket. 2) Install a sample tap on the wet riser. 3) Overflow discharge modification. 4) Install a wet interior ladder. 5) Wet interior platform kickplate 6) Install a swing gate at the wet interior platform. 7) Replace roof vent with a pressure vacuum vent. 8) Install a roof handrail with a painters railing. 9) Install bowl rigging couplings. 10) Install cathodic clips and pressure fitting - alternate. 11) Replace light fixtures in the dry interior. 12) Replace the dry interior light bulbs. 13) Remove the wet interior light fixture. The Contractor is to abide by the following schedule: The Contractor has the option to perform the work in the Spring of 2024 or Fall of 2024. City funds for project are available after July 1, 2024. Spring 2024 Schedule: Commence work on or after April 1, 2024. Substantial Completion by June 3, 2024 including cure and disinfection time. Fall 2024 Schedule: Commence work on or after September 6, 2024. Substantial Completion by November 5, 2024 including cure and disinfection time. Work can only be performed from Monday through Friday. The tank may be out-of-service for a maximum of 35 days for the base bid and 60 days if the wet interior alternate is accepted. Liquidated damages are applicable and begin after 35 days (60 with wet alternate) out-of-service or after Substantial Completion date whichever is the earlier date. Liquidated damages at $1,250/calendar day is to apply after this date. Ready for Final Payment Date is to be thirty (30) days after date Substantial Completion Date based on out-of-service days or scheduled Substantial Completion, or as adjusted by Change Order, or actual Substantial Completion if earlier. Liquidated damages after Ready for Final Payment Date of $250/day is to apply. Liquidated damages are cumulative if damages from Substantial Completion and Ready for Final Payment overlap. In addition, Special Damages, fines, or Set-Off may also apply per Bid/Agreement Form. Owner reserves the right to require the Contractor to have all of the required coating for the project delivered to the site or to the Owner's storage facility prior to the tank being taken out-of-service and prior to the commencement of the project.
