Site work, paving and renovation of a mixed-use development in Groton, Connecticut. Working plans call for the renovation of a transportation facility; for site work for a sidewalk / parking lot; and for paving for a sidewalk / parking lot.

Description The Work of the Project consists of the following: Renovate Building 175 within Amtrak's existing Maintenance of Way Base in Groton, CT to support an expanded training facility, with alterations of more than 4,000 square feet occurring on the first floor and more than 4,000 square feet on the second floor. The project will include the construction of a new elevator, demolition and reconstruction 2 staircases, relocation and construction of bathroom facilities and creation of offices, a breakroom, training rooms, etc. The northeast corner of the 2-story alteration area will receive an insulated metal panel façade, new windows along with a new TPO roofing system. Exterior improvements will include parking lot pavement, utility modifications, new areas of topsoil and grass seed, and drainage infrastructure. Amtrak Maintenance of Way Building 175 Building Renovations This work includes but is not limited to. o Construction of an elevator, o Demolish, rebuild and relocate one staircase and demolition and rebuild of a second staircase in place, o Demolition and installation of a new HVAC system, o Electrical: Construction of new conduit runs, lighting and electrical infrastructure in existing and new areas o Plumbing: Installation of new fixtures and associated pipping in new and existing areas of renovation site o Carpentry: Construction of new roof and creation of new partition walls o Masonry: modifications to existing masonry interior and exterior walls and floors o Construction of bathroom facilities, breakroom, classrooms and offices, o Upgrade and/or demolition of fire protection systems. o Installation of new roof o Building envelope and finishes It is anticipated that a Solicitation for this procurement will be issued in Spring of 2024, and that construction will begin in Summer of 2024. *Due to the confidential nature of this project, please refer to the owner for additional project information and documents.*
