Site work and paving for a civil project in Urbandale, Iowa. Completed plans call for site work for a road / highway; for paving for a road / highway; and water / sewer project.

2024 storm sewer intake rehabilitation program: Storm sewer intake reconstruction. All work is east and south of Interstate 35/80 and north of hickman road Jurisdiction of city of urbandale public improvement project. The 2024 STORM SEWER INTAKE REHABILITATION PROGRAM shall include: Removal and replacement of 36 storm sewer intakes Replacement of approximately 1,150 square yards of pavement Related items including traffic control, sodding, and restoration. Each bidder shall accompany its bid with bid security as security that the successful bidder will enter into a contract for the work bid upon and will furnish after the award of contract a corporate surety bond, in a form acceptable to the City, for the faithful performance of the contract, in an amount equal to one hundred percent of the amount of the contract. The bid security must be in the amount of 10% of the total bid amount including all add alternates (do not deduct the amount of deduct alternates). Bid security shall be in the form of a cashier's check or a certified check drawn on an FDIC insured bank chartered under the laws of the state of Iowa or on an FDIC insured bank chartered under the laws of the United States; or a certified share draft drawn on a credit union in Iowa or chartered under the laws of the United States; or a bid bond on the form provided in the contract documents with corporate surety satisfactory to the City. The bid security shall contain no additional conditions either in the body or as an endorsement thereon, except as provided by law. The successful bidder will be required to furnish Performance Bond in an amount equal to one hundred percent (100%) of the contract price, said bond to be issued by a responsible surety and shall guarantee the faithful performance of the contract and the terms and conditions therein contained and shall guarantee the prompt payment for all materials and labor and protect and save harmless the City, from claims and damages of any kind caused by the operation of the Contractor. Payment of the cost of said project will be made from any one or a combination of the following sources at the discretion of the Council: Cash from such funds as may be legally used for said purpose. Payments will be made to the Contractor based on monthly estimates in amounts equal to ninetyfive percent (95%) of the contract value of the work completed, and will be based upon an estimate prepared on the first day of each month by the Contractor, subject to verification by City Engineer and the approval of the Clerk, who will certify to the Owner for payment of each approved estimate on or before the 10th day of the month in question. Such monthly payment will in no way be construed as an act of acceptance for any part of the work partially or totally completed. The balance of the five percent (5%) due the Contractor will be paid, subject to the conditions and in accordance with the provisions of Chapters 26 and 573 of the Code of Iowa, as amended. No partial or final payment will be due until the Contractor has certified to Owner, that the materials, labor and services involved in each estimate have been paid for in accordance with the requirements stated in the specifications. Time for Commencement and Completion of Work. Work on the improvement shall be commenced immediately upon approval of the contract by the Council, and be completed as stated below.
