Market Research and Sources Sought Notice for information on the capability and availability of potential contractors to perform design-build construction services for the Modernization of the Central Utility Plant Complex (CUP) at Gaithersburg, MD for the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST). Purpose: The purpose of this Sources Sought Notice is to acquire information on the number and capability of qualified Small Business and Large Business firms interested in a prospective procurement of designbuild construction services for the Modernization of the CUP at NIST's Gaithersburg, MD campus. This is NOT a solicitation announcement. Accordingly, no contract award will result from this Sources Sought Notice, as it does not constitute a commitment by the Government. Responses to this Sources Sought Notice will be used by the Government in making an appropriate acquisition decision. Background: NIST headquarters campus is located on 579 acres in Gaithersburg, Maryland. The original campus construction dates from the mid-1960s and the entire campus is designated as National Register Historic District. NIST has begun a program to expand and modernize its facilities on this campus as described in the 2018 NIST Gaithersburg Campus Master Plan and Environmental Assessment (available at https://www.nist.gov/ofpm/nist-gaithersburg-master-plan). The CUP includes Building 302 - the Steam & Chilled Water Generation Plant (B302), Building 305 - Cooling Tower (B305), Building 305V - Electrical Service Building (B305V), Building 306 - Electrical Substation (B306), Building 316 - Electrical Service Building (B316), and Building 317 - Cooling Tower (B317). The Method of Contractor Selection has not been determined at this Time.
