Complete an intensive Class III cultural inventory of public land administered by the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) for a fuels reduction, rangeland improvement and habitat enhancement project in Saguache County, Colorado (See Attachments: San Juan Creek Project Unit Map and San Juan Creek Project Vicinity Map). The contract will consist of Tasks I thru III comprising a total of 1,320 acres to be inventoried. The intent of this archeological inventory is to identify, record, and evaluate cultural resources for their potential eligibility to the National Register of Historic Places to aid the BLM in resource management, compile cultural and paleontological data for future research, and lastly to satisfy the BLM's obligations to Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act. Following the completion of field work the results will be prepared in draft and final report documents that include data synthesis of all cultural resources and analysis within the project area. The project is located approximately ten miles southwest of Saguache, Colorado. The inventory units are located within the Cottonwood, Little Cottonwood, San Juan, and Red Rock drainages. These watersheds contain intermittent waters which flow east out of the foothills of the LaGarita Hills. The foothills are comprised of pinyon-juniper woodland with minimal amounts of Cottonwood, Ponderosa pine, and Douglas fir. Some of these inventory units were previously chained in the late fifties and early sixties. The following legal descriptions are utilizing the New Mexico Principal Meridian. Period of Performance: 02/19/2024 to 08/31/2024. Technical question regarding this RFQ shall be submitted in writing only via email to the Contract Specialist, Laura StJohn at lstjohn@blm.gov no later than Thursday January 25, 2024. Any questions received will be answered via an amendment to the solicitation on or about Tuesday January 30, 2024. If no questions are received no amendment will be issued. In order to ensure all offerors have the same information questions will not be accepted by telephone, they must be emailed and the answers will be provided in the amendment. The Method of Contractor Selection has not been determined at this Time.
