Site work for a mixed-use development in Howey in the Hills, Florida. Completed plans call for site work for a road / highway; and sidewalk / parking lot.

The Town of Howey-in-the-Hills (the "Town") located at 101 North Palm Avenue is issuing a Request for Proposals (RFP) for the complete replacement of the Sara Maude Mason Boardwalk and observation tower, which is approximately 1,300 ft. long (field measure) by 60" (inches) wide with seating areas and observation tower. The Boardwalk is located at the Sara Maude Mason Nature Preserve in Howey in the Hills. The work will consist of the removal and disposal of all existing materials, and replacement of the existing wood boardwalk structure, upgrading the existing size using 6"x6" piles, 2"x10" joist, 2"x10" girders. Adding A.D.A. compliant kick plate, 36" handrail height, and graspable rail on slopes and stairs to meet all A.D.A. requirements. The top rail will have 45- degree splices and must be rounded with no splinters. MATERIALS: All wood material will be marine grade #1 pressure treated lumber. All wood is to have C-A copper-based preservative with organic fungicide. All wood is to be sealed with Olympic maximum marine wood sealant, Thompson water seal VOC wood protection or similar grade. All decking will be 6" (inches) x 1.5" (inches) composite decking material. All fasteners will hot dipped galvanized or stainless steel. Option #1 Alternate Pricing - Using composite material for all decking, kick plate, mid-rail, and top handrail. Option #2 Alternate Pricing - Using aluminum 6"x 6" post and aluminum framing. Option #3 Alternative Pricing - Covering all sit-down areas and observation tower with galvalume metal roofing. The Town intends for the Project to be completed within a period of six months from the Notice to Proceed. Right to Reject Proposals: The Town reserves the right to make an award it determines to be in its best interests or to reject any and all proposals. Further, the Town, in making its award decision, retains the authority to waive what it considers to be minor irregularities in the proposal or to seek clarification on certain issues from any vendor submitting a proposal. Failure to provide requested information may result in the rejection of the proposal.
