As of March 25, 2024, this project has not yet been awarded. A timeline for award has not yet been established. The City of Nashua is seeking bids for the construction of various segments of the proposed boardwalks for the Nashua Riverfront Project. The segments include Area 1: Northwest Riverwalk (Segment No. 6) extending from the Main Street Nashua River bridge along the north side of the Nashua River to the existing Riverwalk Path near Front Street; Area 2: Over-The-Cove" segment extending from a location on the Northwest Boardwalk to the existing Riverwalk Path adjacent to the Nashua River; and Area 3: 4 Water Street Segment extending from the proposed Parc de la Renaissance project to the proposed Bicentennial Park project. Portions of the boardwalk will be suspended from the existing 53 Main Street building, while the remainder will be supported on concrete footings or drilled concrete pier foundations most of which are in the waters of the Nashua River. Proposed improvements are detailed on the contract drawings and include but are not limited to the construction of all boardwalk, demolition and reconstruction of the existing deck at 53 Main Street, removal of a portion of the concrete bridge rail on the Main Street Bridge, handrail lighting, and appurtenant work. Completion times for the project will be as follows: Substantial completion is defined in Section 1.01, Item 43 of the General Conditions shall be by June 30, 2025. Final completion ready for public use August 1, 2025. All drilled piers shall be completed by an interim deadline of September 1, 2024. Liquidated damages of $1,280 for each working day will be assessed for delays beyond the established dates for substantial completion and final completion. The City of Nashua, through the Mayor, who is awarding authority, reserves the right to reject any and all bids or parts of bids; to waive any defects, information, and minor irregularities; to accept exceptions to these specifications; to award contracts or to cancel this request if in the City's best interest.
