The Alabama Supercomputer Authority requests qualifications from qualified design professionals to provide architectural and engineering services under an Open-End Agreement for foundation and structure renovation at the Alabama Supercomputer Center (686 Discovery Drive, Huntsville, AL 35806). The Open-End Agreement will be awarded to one architectural/engineering firm and the services will be contracted under both fees and hourly rates in accordance with the Manual of Procedures of the State of Alabama Department of Finance, Real Property Management, Division of Construction Management and Alabama Supercomputer Authority Foundation Repair project. The services will cover inspection and evaluation of the Center specific to structure settling, the design of an addition for a new electrical/mechanical room and a new loading dock with a receiving area at the Alabama Supercomputer Center (Huntsville, AL). The maximum estimated construction budget for the Open-End Agreement is $1,250,000. The type of funding is fully locallyfunded. The term of the agreement will be for two (2) years with an option to renew for two (2) additional years. The projects may include, but is not limited to, inspection and evaluation of the Center specific to the structural systems, evaluation of current electrical/mechanical needs to design a new electrical/mechanical room that meets the Center's current needs as well as provides room for growth, provide design options for a new loading dock that will allow for receiving items to be broken down and stored securely until moved to final destination. Architects and engineers should review and adhere to these guidelines as appropriate to their project type. 41-16-5 of the Code of Alabama imposes conditions on the award of state contracts.
