Scope of Work The purpose of this solicitation for Facilities Elevator Maintenance, Testing, Repair, And Renovations Services (this "Solicitation") is to select a vendor to provide services including, but not limited to: Elevator's repair, maintenance and testing as well as Capital upgrades, when needed, as described in this Solicitation (the "Work") and to determine the best method for JEA to procure the Work with regard to pricing, quality, design, and workmanship. JEA owns approximately 710 buildings primarily in Duval County, with some additional sites in Clay, Nassau, and St Johns Counties. Approximately ten (10) of these buildings house elevators for a total of thirty-one (31). This includes eighteen (18) passenger elevators (including traction and hydraulic). The Response price must include all labor, supervision, materials, tools and equipment as necessary for performing the work. The workbook represents estimated quantities and is to be used as a guideline and not a guarantee of work. The specifications require that the Company performs these activities with skilled personnel in a safe and professional manner adhering to all JEA, City, County and State regulations and requirements. These specifications are not intended to supersede Federal, State, or local regulations to which the Company must comply. A more detailed description of the Work is provided in the Technical Specifications included as an Exhibit to this Solicitation. Capitalized terms used in this Solicitation without definition shall have the definitions given to them in Section 2 of this Solicitation. Background JEA owns, operates and manages the electric system established by the City of Jacksonville, Florida since 1895. In June 1997, JEA also assumed operation of the water and sewer system previously managed by the City. JEA is located in Jacksonville, Florida, where we proudly serve an estimated 470,000 electric, 351,000 water and 274,000 sewer customers. All Questions must be submitted in writing to the JEA Buyer listed herein at least five business days prior to the opening date. Questions received within five business days prior to the opening date may not be answered. JEA intends to Award one (1) Contract for the Work. JEA reserves the right to Award more than one Contract based on certain groupings of the Work items, or JEA may exclude certain Work items, if JEA determines that it is in its best interest. The Payment and Performance Bond requirements may be less than the full Contract amount. Term of Contract The Contract shall commence on the effective date of the Contract and continue and remain in full force and effect as to all its terms, conditions and provisions as set forth herein for three years. JEA may renew the Contract in its sole discretion for two additional one-year periods. The Contract shall be contingent upon the existence of lawfully appropriated funds for the Contract. Certain provisions of the Contract may extend past termination including, but not limited to, Warranty and Indemnification provisions.
