Site work for a water / sewer project in Norton, Virginia. Completed plans call for site work for a water / sewer project.

The work to be performed under the terms of this Specification consists of a ground subsidence feature (i.e., sinkhole) present at the western edge of the yard adjacent to the sidewalk along 5th Street. The sinkhole has been partially filled with soil and yard waste and there is no observable opening in its bottom, although it readily accepts water, even when introduced at 50 gallons per minute. To remediate the mine, Contractor shall insert a grout tremie pipe down Boring B-4, through the soil plug and into the mine space. The Contractor shall then pump grout through the tremie pipe into the mine. After the mine space is filled, the Contractor shall fill the sinkhole with grout. Once grouting is complete, the Contractor shall install a new drainpipe for roof water from one of the house downspouts to an outlet next to 5th Street. Work Location: The 431 Oak Avenue Subsidence project is located at the corner of Oak Avenue NW and 5th Street NW in Norton, Virginia.
