This solicitation is to bid for ADA compliant upgrades to the I-75 McMinn County northbound and southbound rest areas. Contract award will be made by line. Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT) is upgrading rest area facilities to comply with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) requirements. This solicitation is for the rest areas along Interstate 75 (1-75) at the 45.2 mile-marker in McMinn County. Northbound and Southbound rest areas will be upgraded as specified in the following documents. Upgrades will include installation of handrails, curb ramps, and crosswalks. TDOT will inspect all work for accuracy upon notice of completion from the contractor. Any work products that fail TDOT inspection must be corrected at the cost of the contractor prior to invoice payment. The Northbound and Southbound locations may be awarded individually. If the same contractor is awarded both locations, the contractor will submit separate invoices for each rest area. The awarded contractor(s) must begin work within 30 days of executed purchase order and complete work within 6 months timeframe of beginning work. Any excavational work shall be completed within a week of initiation and shall be marked with high visibility tape around the perimeter of the work for the duration. The contractor shall only perform work during the hours of 8 AM to 5 PM. The Contractor shall maintain an Erosion Prevention and Sediment Control (EPSC) certified inspector on site during the work to monitor runoff.
