Site work and paving for a road / highway in Fitchburg, Wisconsin. Design plans call for site work for a road / highway; and for paving for a road / highway.

stall a pedestrian and bike underpass under CTH MM approximately 1/4 mile north of Lacy Rd. Project will also include approximately 500 feet of bike path, with 250 feet on the east side of CTH MM to connect to existing bike path and 250 feet on the west side to allow connection with the future Nine Springs Hill Development. Approximately half of the project will be funded by a Transportation Alternatives Program grant, which funds safe routes to schools. The remaining amount would be funded with a transfer from CIP #1045 "Capital Grant Match Funding". The proposed underpass will connect the growing Terravessa neighborhood on the east side of CTH MM to a new development on a former construction landfill site on the west side of CTH MM. A range of passive and active open spaces between the two neighborhoods, connected by paths and sidewalks, will provide access to the Capital City Trail. The Capital City Trail is a 17-mile asphalt trail that connects to the Military Ridge State Trail and Badger State Trail on the west side of Fitchburg and runs east and west across the entire City of Fitchburg, then runs north to connect with the John Nolen Trail and will eventually connect to the Glacial Drumlin Bike Trail in the future. In addition, connecting the two neighborhoods by walking and biking will provide safe access to the Forest Edge Elementary School located in Terravessa as well as support the retail and services planned within each neighborhood. 2026-2035 CIP Update: Delayed construction from 2026 to 2027 to align with grant availability. Previously authorized funding: 2025: Planning Design $150,000 (CIP #1045) The project is included in the City's 2026-2035 Capital Improvement Program (CIP) As of June 22, 2026, further details have not yet been identified *Project information has been obtained through a public capital improvement plan (CIP).
