Approximate quantities of principal items of work are as follows HMA Base Crushing and Shaping 15,347 SY HMA,13A Mainline 3,377 Tons HMA Surface Remove 1,260 SY HMA Approach 160 Tons Slope Restoration 1,525 SY. This special provision provides sampling and testing requirements for this project. Provide the hot mix asphalt (HMA) mixture in accordance with the requirements of the standard specifications, except were modified herein. HMA mixture quality assurance shall conform to section 501 of the Michigan Department of Transportation. Each proposal must be accompanied by a certified or cashiers check, bank money order, or bidders bond in the amount equal to five percent (5%) of the amount of the proposal, payable to the Alpena County Road Commission, as a guarantee of good faith. At the time that a subcontractor is named in a bid to perform any of the Designated or Specialty Items, that subcontractor must be prequalified for the classification which includes the work it is to perform. If the subcontractor is not MDOT prequalified, the contractor will be required to provide the company name and address of a prequalified subcontractor or the Board will have the right to determine the competency of the subcontractor. The Engineer anticipates that construction can begin no earlier than April 15, 2024. The entire project must be completed by the final completion date of September 27, 2024. The Board reserves the right to reject any or all proposals, to waive any irregularities in any proposal, or to make the award as appears to be in the best interest of the Alpena County Road Commission.
