Renovation of a playground / park / athletic field in Fife, Washington. Completed plans call for the renovation of a playground / park / athletic field.

Improvements to be included within this Project are as follows: Remove existing siding, window trims, corner boards, soffits and weather barriers on the entire main building, wood shop and small shed. Replace damaged framing or plywood as necessary. Install Tyvek and replace siding and trim. Repaint buildings. A more detailed scope of work can be found in the bid packet. The city invites interested firms to bid on this project. Permits are required for this project, but all permit fees will be waived. Project Timeline On-site work must be completed within 21 calendar days once notice to proceed is issued. No extensions will be granted for this work. Prevailing Wages 1. The Contractor shall submit a Statement for the Contractor and each and every subcontractor to the Industrial Statistician of the Department of Labor and Industries for approval. A $40.00 fee payable to the Department of Labor and Industries shall be included for each statement submitted. Should force account work be authorized by the City, the Contractor shall, at his/her own expense, provide the City with a new statement of Intent to Pay Prevailing Wages if any changes have occurred since the issuance of the original Intent to Pay Prevailing Wages was filed. 2. For contracts in excess of $10,000, the Contractor shall post in a location readily visible to workers at the job site: a. A copy of the approved statement of Intent to Pay Prevailing Wages (Labor and Industries [L & I] Form F700-029-000). b. The address and telephone number of the Industrial Statistician of the Department of Labor and Industries. 1. The statement of Intent to Pay Prevailing Wages shall include the Contractor's registration certificate number or UBI number and prevailing rate of wage for each classification of workers entitled to prevailing wages. Self-employed or owner/operator contractors or subcontractors who perform the actual work will be required to submit a statement regardless of the method of payment. 2. Affidavit of Wages Paid: Following final acceptance of the Project, the Contractor shall submit, for the Contractor and each and every subcontractor, an Affidavit of Wages Paid (L & I Form F700-007-000) form to the Industrial Statistician of the Department of Labor and Industries for approval. A $40.00 fee payable to the Department of Labor and Industries shall be included for each statement submitted. Self-employed or owner/operator contractors or subcontractors who perform the actual work will be required to submit an affidavit regardless of the method of payment. Applicable Prevailing Wage Rates. Prevailing wages rates may be found at website Scope of Work Contractor shall: 1. This Agreement will be for a full service and shall include all design, labor, materials, equipment, delivery, haul-away, hoisting, unload, and distribution of all siding materials, and incidentals required to completely construct and make fully operational the Scope of Work for the main building, wood shop and small shed. 2. Tear off, haul away, and recycle existing siding, window trims, corner boards, soffits and weather barriers on the entire building, and related construction waste. Take to an approved dump facility. 3. Inspect framing, plywood and any other lumber for rot or damage and replace as needed. The quantities shown for plywood and dimensional lumber in Schedule A of the bid form are estimates and are stated only for Bid comparison purposes. The city does not warrant expressly or by implication, that the actual quantities of will correspond with those estimates. Payment will be made based on the actual quantities of each item and the unit prices in the bid proposal. 4. Install new Tyvek house wrap with self-adhesive tape and metal flashing over windows and doors. 5. Install new Hardie perforated soffit on all the eves and gables. 6. Trim out windows, inside corners, outside corners, doors, lighting fixtures, electrical outlets, hose bibs, and vents with Hardie trim. 7. Install a band board at the bottom of the building to mimic the one there right now. Then install new wood texture James Hardie lap siding 7" reveal on the entire building. 8. Install siding and trim with a minimum of 2 inches of clearance between it and the concrete masonry below it at the building exteriors to help prevent moisture from wicking in. 9. Supply and install all new siding materials according to manufacturer's installation specifications. 10. Flashing seams will have a flashing membrane behind instead of sealant. Windows, doors, and bands will have metal flashing at the top of them. 11. Siding to trim and window to trim transitions will be sealed with quad max commercial grade sealant. 12. Siding on shed shall match siding of the main building. 13. Paint siding and trim (siding - Benjamin Moore Hale Navy HC-154, trim - Benjamin Moore Cloud Cover OC-25). 14. Clean up daily, and upon completion. 15. Arrange and pay for product delivery to site. Coordinate delivery schedule with city staff. On delivery, inspect products with city staff. 16. Provide protection and security of stored and installed materials. Limit use of site and premises for storage and work required to complete the Scope of Work. 17. Coordinate project close-out with city staff, clean surfaces exposed to view; remove temporary labels, stains, and foreign substances, polish transparent and glossy surfaces. Remove waste and surplus materials, rubbish, and construction facilities from the site. 18. Follow all safety codes and all minimum required building codes.
