Description

Site work and paving for a civil project in Saint-Basile-le-Grand, Quebec. Design plans call for site work for a bridge / tunnel; and for paving for a bridge / tunnel.

Construction of a cycle-pedestrian bridge to connect the two parts of the City separated by Sit-Wilfrid-Laurier Boulevard (Road 116) and the Canadian National Railway Company railway. The scope of work includes the construction of the bridge, development of rises and approaches, burying of electrical wires and other services. This project is a priority for the City as it will ensure the safety of active transportation, particularly between Montée Robert and Boulevard du Millénair. TIMELINE: The project of a pedestrian and cycling bridge over Sir-Wilfrid-Laurier Boulevard (Route 116) is preliminary. Following a public consultation with local population the owner has finalized the project location and completed a feasibility study. The project is temporary on hold as its implementation requires funding and authorization from the Government of Quebec and the Ministry of Transport. Timelines of further project development are not finalized. Further update in late 2026/early 2027.
