Renovation of a mixed-use development in Aransas Pass, Texas. Completed plans call for the renovation of a swimming pool.

SCOPE OF WORK: The City of Aransas Pass invites participation in the Request for Proposals (R.F.P.) for experienced and qualified professionals to replaster/refinish the pool surfaces of the City of Aransas Pass Aquatics Center. Project shall include but not be limited to all material and labor for the removal of current pool plaster, various pool surface repairs and preparation and application of new pool plaster along with tile for swim lanes and transition areas, if deemed necessary. No bond coat will be accepted. Replastering will include filling any leaks in the pool plaster or expansion joints. Services shall include pool filling, equipment activation and proper balancing of swimming pool water chemistry. Bids will accept for one pool (either the competition pool or the leisure pool), two of the three pools (the competition pool and the leisure pool) in the aquatics center or all three pools of the aquatics center (including the slide pool, leisure pool and competition pool). Those proposers which bid for more of the options increase their chances of being selected. Debris containment to prevent debris from entering any pool water and/or any pool filter system and proper disposal of any debris is an essential requirement of the selected contractor. Scheduling will be a key determining factor in selecting the recipient of the bid. Proposers should submit the amount of time projected to begin the job and complete the job after the contract for services has been completed. Box 2000 Aransas Pass, TX 78335 CLARIFICATIONS AND ISSUANCE OF ADDENDA: Any explanation, clarification, or interpretation desired by a Proposer regarding any part of this R.F.P. must be requested from the City of Aransas Pass at least six (6) calendar days prior to the published submission deadline, as referenced in Section 2.0 of this R.F.P. Questions will only be answered on traditional business days. If the City, in its sole discretion, determines that a clarification is required, such clarification shall be issued in writing. Interpretations, corrections, or changes to the R.F.P. made in any other manner other than writing are not binding upon the City, and Proposers shall not rely upon such interpretations, corrections, or changes. Oral explanations or instructions given before the award of the Contract are not binding. Requests for explanations or clarifications should be submitted via email to Andy Tarkington @aptx.gov. E-mails must clearly identify the R.F.P. Number Any interpretations, corrections or changes to this R.F.P. will be made by addendum. Sole issuing authority of addenda shall be vested in the City of Aransas Pass. Proposers shall acknowledge receipt of all addenda within the responses. AWARD OF CONTRACT: It is understood that the City reserves the right to request additional information, waive immaterial errors or omissions, to accept or reject any and all Proposals, or to re-solicit for Proposals, as it shall deemed to be in the best interests of the City of Aransas Pass. Receipt and consideration of any Proposals shall under no circumstances obligate the City of Aransas Pass to accept any Proposals. If an award of contract is made, it shall be made to the proposer offering the most comprehensive, creative, qualified, and responsive proposal at the best value to the City. In determining the best value for the City, the City may consider: the proposal fees; the reputation of the proposer and of the proposer's services; the quality of the proposer 's services; the extent to which the services meet the municipality's needs; the proposer 's past relationship with this municipality; the impact on the ability of the municipality to comply with laws and rules relating to contracting services; the total long-term cost to the municipality to acquire the services; any relevant criteria specifically listed in the request for proposals. the contractor's timetable for completing the job once awarded The City reserves the right to award a single contract or multiple contracts by section listed in the Scope of Work. With Bid Submission, all BIDDER must submit a bid bond for an amount equal to not less than 5% of the total price of the project. Upon execution of contract, prior to work beginning, the CONTRACTOR awarded this project will provide a performance and payment bond for 100% of the contract price. *Proposals will not be opened until after the submittal deadline. City Staff may confirm receipt of submissions upon request but will not open or otherwise confirm completeness of submissions until after the passage of the submittal deadline. Late proposal documents and unsealed proposals will not be accepted under any circumstances.
