The City owns and operates three above ground biosolids storage tanks with a total capacity of approximately 850,000 gallons in conjunction with its wastewater treatment operations at 41 North Street, Milton, WI 53563. To accommodate the City's operation of these tanks, thickened biosolids must be removed, transported, and applied to agricultural sites in the surrounding area, or stored for later disposal. All work shall be in accordance with Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources, Environmental Protection Agency, Occupations Health and Safety, Wisconsin Department of Transportation, City of Milton Ordinance and other applicable regulatory requirements. Loading of the trucks will be accomplished at the loading station provided by the City at the WWTF. The City will furnish a 700 GPM pump for the loading of biosolids into trucks as weather permits. During freezing conditions, the contractor will be required to load all trucks using contractor owned vacuum equipment. Liquid biosolids analyses will be provided by the City of Milton in accordance with WDNR regulations. Biosolids removal shall be done Monday through Friday between the hours of 6:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. Removal after 6:00 p.m. and on Saturdays or Sundays may be permitted upon request.
