Town of Pittsboro Parks and Recreation is now soliciting statements of qualifications for the creation of a master plan for the Moncure Road park site. and consists of 51.4 acres located on Moncure Pittsboro Road in the Extraterritorial Jurisdiction (ETJ) of Pittsboro, NC. The selected consultant will be required to:
1. Meet with Town Staff at site to review current conditions and existing amenities or site constraints,
and receive direction regarding site specific requirements.
2. Work with the Parks and Recreation Advisory Board and Board of Commissioners on findings and
possible revisions.
3. Perform topographical survey to help determine what amenities are best suited for the site.
4. Administer online survey for Town residents so they can provide feedback on the park.
5. Hold (2) separate meetings with key stakeholder groups.
6. Hold (2) separate public input meetings. One prior to the rough draft presentation of the plan, and
one after the rough draft is presented to town commissioners.
7. Incorporate naming options of the new park that includes public feedback
8. Review the 2019 Parks and Recreation Comprehensive Master Plan. Collaborate with Town Staff to
identify elements from 2019 and explore ways to tie in facility and program needs identified in that plan
into this new park.
9. Prepare conceptual plans for review and presentation.
10. Generate phasing plan that includes cost estimates for implementation. The method of Contractor Selection has not been Determined at this time.
