The Snelgrove Elevated Tank (ET) located at 2819 Mayfield Road is to be taken out of service and demolished. Due to the location of the elevated tank adjacent to a park, an arterial road and in the middle of a residential area, it will be critical to develop mitigation plans to ensure mitigation of dust, vibration, and noise, and above all ensure public safety at all times. The Project will include the following scope: - Mobilization to site and establishment of laydown and staging area, environmental controls, traffic controls, site safety and security controls. - Abatement and disposal of the existing lead-containing tank coatings. Abatement and removal of existing coatings required to suitable extents to allow for safe cutting and removal of the tank elements. - Decommissioning and demolition of the Snelgrove Elevated Tank and all associated infrastructure including the valve house, buried valve chamber, bulk fill station, site fencing and all other site elements. - Capping of existing potable water piping and removal of sections of abandoned piping. - Site restoration including sodding, fencing, paving, and tree planting to compensate for any required tree removals.
