The work under this project includes the furnishing of all labor, materials, and equipment required for the performance of all reconstruction as indicated on the Contract Documents. The work essentially includes, but is not limited to: A. Bluff Street, Sycamore Street, Maple Street, all excavation, manhole replacement, 8" sanitary sewer replacement, lateral reconnections, Inspection tees which consist of cleanout, 1-1/2" 9.5mm wearing entire cartway, curb to curb B. Hayden Street, 8" sewer liner, Maple Street - Oak Street 375 LF, 8" sewer excavation, Oak Street - Sycamore Street 86 LF, manhole replacement, tap connections of house laterals, site tee cleanouts, mill 4" +, Oak Street to Sycamore Street, binder 19mm 2.5", Oak Street to Sycamore Street, 11 1/2 " 9.5mm wearing, Maple Street - Sycamore Street C. All other such related and required work as indicated on the Contract Drawings or contained elsewhere in these Contract Documents. All work under this Contract will be performed at South Trafford, on Bluff, Hayden, Sycamore, Oak and Maple Streets within the Borough of Trafford, Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania. All excavation shall be unclassified and no extra payment will be made for rock, boulders, shale, timbers, logs, old foundations, old street car tracks, masonry or other natural or artificial materials encountered in the trenching operations except as may be noted in the Engineering Specifications. The Contractor shall make personal examination of the locations in which the pipelines are to be constructed to determine for himself the extent of the rock that may be encountered. The Contractor acknowledges there may not be sufficient time to perform pre-bid borings to determine the nature of the subsurface conditions and that the Contractor may have to rely on its visual inspection of the site when making a determination as to the character of the subsurface conditions. No information regarding subsurface conditions along the routes of the pipelines will be given by the owner. The Contractor shall assume all risks associated with the composition of the subsurface materials and the ease or difficulty of excavation. The Contractor shall not at any time claim a misunderstanding regarding the depth or character of the excavation to be made or in the nature of the materials to be encountered. The owner reserve the rights to evaluate the exceptions and objections and their right to reject the entire bid.
