Site work and paving for a mixed-use development in Buffalo Grove, Illinois. Completed plans call for site work for a road / highway; for paving for a road / highway; sidewalk / parking lot; and sidewalk / parking lot.

This project includes, but is not limited to, the following major work items: multi use path surface removal; aggregate base improvements; asphalt pathway paving; new limestone pathway; landscape restoration; and other appurtenant work within the Buffalo Creek Nature Preserve in the Village of Buffalo Grove. This work is subject to the wage provisions of the Illinois Prevailing Wage Act. 820 ILCS 130/0/01 et seq. and the Illinois Substance Abuse Prevention on Public Works Projects Act. 820 ILCS 265/1 et seq relative to prevailing wages of laborers, mechanics, and other workers employed in any Public Works as amended by Public Acts 86799 and 86693. The above segments will include existing pathway asphalt surface removal, removal and disposal of unsuitable material, preparation of base, new asphalt pathways, landscape restoration, and other associated improvements. The above segments will include earth excavation, geotechnical fabric installation, subbase granular material, limestone aggregate placement, landscape restoration, and other associated improvements. The Contractor shall commence the work to be performed under this contract, on or near Monday, Monday April 29, 2024. The work shall be prosecuted in such a manner and with such a supply of materials, equipment and labor as considered necessary to ensure its completion according to the time specified in the contract. The Contractor shall have ten (10) working days from the actual date the Contractor begins work to complete this project. All work shall be completed, regardless of what is awarded or the actual start date by Friday, June 7, 2024, including punch list items, as defined in Article 108.04 of the Standard Specifications. The estimated Village Board award date for this project is Monday, February 21, 2024. The Contractor will be required to post a Maintenance Bond for a period of One Year (1-yr) from date of final acceptance by the Village. Final acceptance will be the date the Final Payment is made to the Contractor. The bond shall be in a form acceptable to the Village in the amount of 10% (ten percent) of the awarded contract value. Unless under emergency situations, the Village will offer the Contractor the ability to fix or repair any item prior to the bond being called. If the Contractor elects to perform the repairs themselves, all work must be complete within 14 calendar days of notice from the Village or the Village reserves the right to perform the repairs themselves.
