Site work and paving for a mixed-use development in Gilroy, California. Completed plans call for site work for a playground / park / athletic field; road / highway; and for paving for a road / highway.

Estimated project value: $1,400,000. THE WORK A. The Work will consist of: The Project will construct approximately 1.5-miles of the Ojo de Agua Trail, an approximately 6-foot-wide natural surface trail, which will support public use of the Coyote Canyon park property. The scope includes tree pruning, protection, and removals, grading and earthwork, installation of aggregate base rock, rock crossings, armoring, erosion control BMPs, and fencing removal and installation. Construction of the Ojo de Agua Trail is a critical component in providing safe, sustainable use of the property for hikers, bicyclists, and equestrians. The trail was approved as part of the Coyote Canyon Natural Resources Management Plan and Interim Access Plan (Coyote Canyon Plan), which was adopted by the Board in December 2019. B. Key personnel 1. Contractor must provide a minimum full-time staff of key personnel who must be at the site at all times when Work is being performed. These staff include, at a minimum: a. General Superintendent who may also function as the Quality Control ("QC") Manager or Alternate. 2. No Work may begin until Contractor submits, and Owner approves, the positions. SPECIAL INSPECTIONS/PERMITS The Project requires special inspections and permits by outside agencies. Inspections, permits, and/or acceptance by these departments/agencies do not relieve Contractor from any obligation to comply with the full scope of the Contract Documents. ESTIMATED COST The estimated cost for the base Bid for this work is: $1,400,000. CONTRACT TIMES A. The Contract Time for the completion of all the Work of the Project is approximately 180 Calendar Days from the Commencement Date in Owner's Notice to Proceed, or before Substantial Completion date of October 15, 2024, per permit requirements, unless otherwise directed by Owner. Designated portions of the Work must be completed according to the following Milestones. B. Contractor shall not begin on-site construction work no earlier than April 15, 2024, per permit requirements for construction work within the stream banks and riparian corridors. C. Contractor shall achieve Substantial Completion of the entire Work no later than October 15, 2024, or as directed by Owner, per permit requirements for construction work within the stream banks and riparian corridors. D. Contractor shall achieve Final Completion of the entire Work no later than November 15, 2024, per permit requirements for construction work within the stream banks and riparian corridors. E. No intermediate milestones Liquidated Damages are associated with Substantial Completion and Final Completion. BIDS MUST BE ADDRESSED TO the President of the Board of Supervisors of the County of Santa Clara and bear the Project name and Project number as they appear on the cover of the Project Manual. Each Bid must be accompanied by cash, a certified or cashier's check, or a bond in the sum of not less than ten percent (10%) of the total aggregate of the Bid price, including all additive Bid items. The check or bond must be made payable to "The County of Santa Clara." The successful Bidder shall provide a performance bond in the form provided in the Project Manual, (Performance Bond form), in an amount of one hundred percent (100%) of the Contract Sum as determined from the prices in the Bid Form, including the base Bid and all additive and/or deductive Bid items accepted by Owner and identified in the Award, and must be so conditioned as to ensure the faithful performance by Contractor of all Work. The successful Bidder shall provide a payment bond for public works in the form provided in the Project Manual, (Payment Bond form), in an amount of one hundred percent (100%) of the Contract Sum as determined from the prices in the Bid Form, including the base Bid and all additive and/or deductive Bid items accepted by Owner and identified in the Award, and shall inure to the benefit of persons performing labor or furnishing materials in connection with the Work. The Clerk will report the results of the Bid at a publicly noticed regular or special meeting of the Board of Supervisors following the date of opening of the Bids. The Board of Supervisors reserves the right to reject any and all Bids and to waive any errors or discrepancies in the Bids. Question Deadline 02/20/2024 at 5:00 PM PT Contractor must submit all requests for clarification, or interpretation of the Bid Documents in writing at least ten (10) Days before the deadline for receipt of Bids. Owner may issue written Addenda as appropriate for clarification or other reasons during the bidding period. Addenda will be mailed or delivered to each person included on the Owner's plan holders list for the Project. Owner is not responsible for any explanation or interpretation of the Bid Documents not communicated to Bidders in an Addendum.
