Renovation of a medical facility in Brantford, Ontario. Completed plans call for the renovation of a medical facility.
Providing care to the community, the Brant Community Healthcare System is a community wide system that supports the improvement of programs and services provided through the Brantford General Hospital and the Willet and is an affiliated teaching site of McMaster University Michael G. DeGroote School of Medicine. Brantford General Hospital is a regional acute health centre and the Willett site provides urgent care and community outreach programs. Through the Healthcare Infrastructure Renewal Funding, BCHS will complete repairs of the three cooling towers on the D-Wing. The scope varies for each but involves repair type modifications to the cooling towers in order to prolong the life span of the equipment. BCHS would like to complete this work by March 31, 2024 if possible. Scope of work - cooling towers 1 and 2: - remove existing eliminators and distribution, store on site to be reused. - remove existing damaged and sagging fill media and dispose. - remove the sloping panels, clean old butyl sealer from panels, reinstall panels using new butyl sealer to reduce leakage. - mechanically abrade all interior panels and apply two (2) coats of zrc cold zinc galvanizing compound to replenish the original Galvanic corrosion protection: - seal all associated seam with polyurethane sealant to reduce leakage. - supply and install all new cf1200 fill media. - reinstall the stored distribution and drift eliminators. - supply and install new fan shaft bearings complete with a new driven sheave bushing, existing driven sheave to be reused. - mechanically abrade fan shafts and apply two part fan shaft epoxy. - provide final testing and balancing of tower systems. - include one year parts and labour warranty, bac factory trained installation, and all bac authorized parts and materials. Scope of work - cooling tower 3 - supply and install new fan shaft bearings complete with a new driven sheave bushing, existing driven sheave to be reused. - mechanically abrade fan shafts and apply two part fan shaft epoxy. - include one year parts and labour warranty, bac factory trained installation, and all bac authorized parts and materials. Provide final testing and balancing of tower systems.
