The City is looking to purchase street lighting materials including fixtures/luminaires, standards/poles, and bollards to be used at various projects and locations throughout Aurora. The City is willing to consider alternative materials (such as other brands) which are generally equivalent to those being requested, but any alternative must be submitted for preapproval prior to bidding. This contract will be for materials only and will not include installation. The City encourages minority business firms to submit proposals and encourages the successful contract bidder to utilize minority businesses as subcontractors for supplies, equipment, services, and construction. The City of Aurora has a local preference ordinance that would apply to this contract. All questions, including submittal of alternative materials for pre-approval, should be received by the purchasing division by 4 PM Wednesday, February 7, 2024 so that an addendum can be issued Friday, February 9, 2024 if required. All questions received after Wednesday, February 7, 2024 will not be addressed. The City reserves the right to waive technicalities and to reject any or all proposals as provided in Standard Provisions for Bidding Requirements and Conditions for Contract Proposals contained in the "Supplemental Specifications and Recurring Special Provisions". The City of Aurora reserves the right to reject any or all of the bids and to waive any and all irregularities and technicalities. The City of Aurora shall either award the project or reject the bids within ninety (90) calendar days after the bid opening. This time frame may be extended upon mutual agreement of the City and the Bidder.
