2024 Pavement Marking Program. These specifications include general requirements for retroreflective pavement markings using (a) Type 1, fast dry water-based 100% acrylic type paint, (b) Screed extruded thermoplastic material, for the replacement of roadway pavement markings, or (c) Spray applied thermoplastic material. Bidders should note that this work is to consist of a number of separate street segments. A summary of project streets is attached with this specification. The quantities of work to be purchased are estimated, based on anticipated projects and available funding. The City of Fairfield reserves the right to increase the project estimate up to 30% or to decrease the project estimate up to 20% from original project total estimate without changes to unit prices bid. -This work shall consist of furnishing all materials, equipment and labor necessary for the required pavement preparation and application of uniformly retroreflective pavement marking materials in accordance with the plans or as described herein. -All pavement markings shall conform to the requirements of the most recent edition of the Ohio Department of Transportation Construction and Materials Specifications. Maintenance of traffic shall be in accordance with the Ohio Manual of Uniform Traffic Control Devices. Bid Bond (Certified Check or Cashier's Check for ten percent (10%) of the amount of the bid submitted unless otherwise specified). Bid prices must be firm for a period of ninety (90) days following the bid opening date. The City of Fairfield reserves the right to reject any or all bids or to correct or waive irregularities in bids should it be deemed in the best interest of the City to do so. All work shall be completed within sixty (60) days of notice to proceed.
