The following outlines the work as contemplated by the Region and is for guidance only. Proponents are encouraged to be innovative in their Proposals in identifying additional or different tasks and provide details for the execution of such tasks The objectives of HWMS Optimization - Phase 2 are outlined as follows: o Maintain Assets in a State of Good Repair o Enhance the site's adaptability for future growth. o Improve customer experience by enhancing convenience. o Reduce Vehicle Processing Time. o Segregate Traffic effectively, differentiating between large commercial and residential/small commercial vehicles. o Distinguish Paid and Free Material Areas to allow for improved traffic flow. o Maintain uninterrupted waste collection and service provision at the HWMS during construction and implementation of the above objectives. As noted in the Introduction, the 2023 Land-Use Study commissioned by Halton Region (appendix A) outlines the optimized site layout for new and expanded infrastructure at the HWMS. As the scope of work is significant, it is anticipated that construction will need to be broken into two stages for budgeting purposes. This assignment requires that Design for the entire HWMS Optimization Phase 2 project be completed as one unit, but that the tendering and construction of the work will be separated by time and scope into two stages. The Award of the Construction Phase Services for each of the Stages will be Provisional based on satisfactory performance and available budget Question Deadline: Wed Feb 14, 2024 4:00:00 PM (EST) Duration in months: 36 The method of Contractor Selection has not been Determined at this time
