The below scope description encompasses a high-level overview of the mechanical renovation work for the USU Military Science Building. Full construction scope, equipment schedules, and specifications may be found in the design documents. Demolition: Existing air handling units, steam radiators, unit heaters, window mounted A/C equipment, identified duct, and steam/condensate piping identified in the documents to be demolished and removed in their entirety. Demolition/landscape work at chiller yard location, Many ceilings and light fixtures throughout the building will require removal and re-installation. Saw-cutting of existing floor for new duct distribution and plumbing/waste piping. Electrical circuitry reconfigurations for added equipment and service upgrades. Mechanical scope: Demolition of mechanical items noted above. Installation of new building steam to hot water converter. Installation of new hydronic hot water distribution system including piping/pumps/etc. Installation of new air-cooled chiller at new chiller yard. Installation of new hydronic chilled water distribution system including piping/pumps/glycol feed systems/etc. Provide & install new equipment pad sized for "future" ice-storage tanks. New medium pressure and low-pressure supply duct and ceiling diffusers. New return air duct throughout. New VAV-Reheat boxes to serve building. All controls work associated with new mechanical systems and sequencing. Test & Balancing are required. Plumbing Scope: New condensate drains, waste/vent piping, and floor drains as indicated. New basement located packaged sump & pump. Architectural/Structural Scope: Patch/paint/repair where required to match existing. Re-installation and/or replacement of ceilings where required/indicated. New extension of attic mezzanine space including structural improvements. New wall/doors at basement location. Saw-cutting for new entry at basement storage. New floor/ceiling/roof penetrations for duct distribution as indicated. New mechanical chases framed, installed and finished. Structural reinforcing of floor/ceiling/roof penetrations. Roof modifications for new air intakes/relief hoods. Electrical Scope: Panel upgrades and reconfigurations as required for new mech equipment. Receptacle and lighting removal/relocation/replacements as indicated. Fire alarm system extension/renovations/replacements as indicated. New power extensions from outdoor equipment and re-feeding of existing panels as required.
