The Districts are currently soliciting bids from suppliers to furnish and deliver sodium bisulfite solution. Sodium bisulfite is used at the Los Coyotes, Long Beach, Pomona, San Jose Creek East and West, Whittier Narrows, Valencia, Saugus, and Lancaster WRPs as the primary means to dechlorinate final effluent prior to receiving water discharge in order to meet NPDES and WDR permit requirements issued by the California Regional Water Quality Control Board Los Angeles and Lahontan Regions.
