The contractor shall provide labor, materials, equipment and supervision necessary for Ceiling Repair and Paint in Courtroom 1, US Courthouse, Sioux Falls, SD. See attached solicitation for details and instructions on submitting a proposal. The General Services Administration, Region 8, is initiating a project to repair the ceiling of the historic courtroom on the second floor at the Sioux Falls Federal Courthouse. Focus of the project is to repair damaged areas and prevent further cracking. The contractor shall begin performance within 7 calendar days and complete it within 30 calendar days The Government will attempt to answer all requests for clarifications or interpretations of the Solicitation Documents prior to the date set for receipt of offers, but will not warrant that all such requests will be answered within 7 calendar days. Therefore, prospective Offerors should make such requests not less than 7 calendar days prior to the date set for receipt of offers. All questions concerning proposal submissions shall be directed in writing via email to the Contracting Officer at Kristen.feickert@gsa.gov. Any responses provided by GSA will be posted to www.SAM.gov. MBE (1.2%), WBE (6.9%), 1) Remove approximately 500 square feet of loose plaster and peeling paint from Courtroom 1 ceiling. The contractor shall use proper OSHA practices in the removal of lead containing materials. 2) Contain dust to the maximum extent feasible for the duration of construction. a. Utilize a combination of dust collection systems and temporary barriers to prevent the spread of construction dust and debris. 3) Skim coat approximately 500 square feet of damaged areas and embed fiberglass mesh, finish shall be tooled to have a final wall appearance that matches the adjacent smooth finish and consistent with original design. a. Contractor shall use a product in kind to the original 1911 era Lime Gypsum plaster and will submit a product specification to GSA for approval. 4) Paint approximately 2160 square feet walls and ceilings. a. With commercial-grade, low-VOC, ceiling paint b. Primer, base coat, finish coat, minimum; ensure even paint coverage and consistent color throughout c. Ultra-Flat finish or manufacturer-specific equivalent d. Match paint to existing color. 5) Contractor will be responsible for moving out furniture prior to work commencing and returning furniture once work is completed. Furniture consists of approximately eleven benches, six tables, two bookshelves, and thirty-five chairs. Contractor is not responsible for moving agency owned computer equipment but will be responsible for ensuring rack systems approximately three and three cameras are protected from dust and damage. Contractor will protect all woodwork, lighting and carpet from dust and damage and will repair any damage back to pre-construction condition.
