Renovation of a medical facility in Vancouver, British Columbia. Completed plans call for the renovation of a medical facility.
The purpose of this Request for Pre-Qualifications ("RFPQ") is to invite interested General Contractors ("Respondents") to submit Responses indicating their interest in and qualifications for the VGH Endoscopy Suites Room Reconfiguration Project (Project # C583-00). Based on these Responses, Vancouver Coastal Health Authority ("Authority") intends to select, in accordance with the terms of this RFPQ, a short-list of Respondents will be invited to participate in the next stage of the Construction Tender process. The Project is located on the Ground Floor of the Jim Pattison South Pavilion (JPS) at the Vancouver General Hospital (VGH) campus. The proposed renovation space is within the Surgical Daycare Unit and is currently in use for Endoscopic Procedures and support functions. As such, the construction works will be undertaken in multiple phases to ensure the department remains operational without any reduced capacity. Minimal evening and weekend work may be required to minimize impact and disruptions. The spaces to be renovated measure approximately 65 net square meters (700 net square feet). The Project outcome will enhance VCH's ability to provide quality service to the public through the endoscopic procedures offered at VGH. The Project will redesign 2 of the 4 existing endoscopy procedure rooms to optimize functionality, and bring the spaces up to current standards, with particular focus on Procedure Room 4 (G518) being outfitted for fluoroscopic imaging. The following high-level phase descriptions provide an overall scope/process for the work of each phase. Phase 1 -Hoarding and initial deconstruction of the interior finishes of a clinical room (G522). Base Building Infrastructure - Initial infrastructure upgrades will be made to the mechanical and electrical systems in the walls to allow for the subsequent installations of all new endoscopy suite equipment. Connections may be required to the systems in the interstice. New finishes, fixtures and equipment to be installed. Existing base building systems outside the room must continue to function as normal unless during a required shutdown. This phase will be considered complete when the clinical team determines the room is fully operational as an endoscopy suite. Phase 2 - Hoarding and initial deconstruction of the interior finishes of clinical room (G518). Base Building Infrastructure - Initial infrastructure upgrades will be made to the mechanical and electrical systems to allow for the subsequent installations of all new endoscopy suite equipment. Connections may be required to the systems in the interstice. Existing base building systems must continue to function as normal unless during a necessary shutdown. This phase will be considered complete when the clinical team determines the room is fully operational as an endoscopy suite. G518 requires additional features including but not limited to lead lining.
