2024 Street Rehabilitation Project. Bid Security: Bids must be accompanied by a bid deposit of at least 5% of the total bid amount. Bid deposits may be in the form of a bid bond, cashier's check, money order or bank draft. Performance Bond: The successful bidder shall be required to provide a Performance Bond of 110% of the total contract amount. The Work shall consist of the installation water mains and rehabilitation of the existing pavements as mentioned in the plans. The work includes pavement milling and resurfacing, local base repair, with pavement excavation and reconstruction on noted streets, alleys, curb & gutter removal and replacement, sidewalk removal and replacement, driveway removal and replacement, removal and replacement of drainage structures, adjusting/replacing frames and grates/lids, rehabilitation and replacement of sanitary manholes, construction of new water main and replacement of water services (on noted street), and related collateral work. Liquidated Damages. If a Bidder fails to timely submit all additional information requested by Owner, or if the successful Bidder fails to timely and properly submit all required Bonds, certificates and policies of insurance, or if the successful Bidder fails to timely and properly execute the Contract, the Contractor's Certification, and all other required documentation related to the Contract, it will be difficult and impracticable to ascertain and determine the amount of damage that Owner will sustain by reason of any such failure. The Village reserves the right to reject any or all bids in whole or in part, to waive or not to waive informalities therein, and accepting the bid considered to be in the best interest of the Village of Winnetka.
