Renovation of an educational facility in Syracuse, New York. Completed plans call for the renovation of a educational facility.
The project will consist of addition/renovation in the area of the former bookstore, machine lab and atrium at the Whitney Applied Technology Center at Onondaga Community College. The spaces will be renovated into a simulated clean room, machine lab, welding room and other student spaces. Work area in the existing first floor is 15,700sf and second floor is 14,000sf including 3,000 sf of a second floor addition above the existing machine lab. The renovation work is a level 2 alteration, including but not limited to architectural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection and site work. Work also includes a new elevated concrete deck floor with supporting steel structure built within the existing double height space of the current machine lab as well as modification of existing footers, and other work indicated in the contract documents. New stair scope is also included. Contract MC - 1 Mechanical Contractor This work is Phase 2 of a two phase project, this bid package is spilt between Phase 2A and Phase 2B. The goal is to start Phase 2A work as soon as possible and Phase 2B work soon after. Phase 1 was bid separately, and some work will be being finalized when Phase 2 work begins Bidders are informed that this project is being progressed by the Onondaga Community College Facilities Department. This project will be subject to NYS prevailing wage. Contractor to provide the following: MWBE Utilization plan, Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) Policy Statement, Workforce Employment Utilization Re- port, Apprenticeship Program, and Minority and Women Business Enterprise Utilization Goals: MBE Utilization Goal of 18% and WBE Utilization Goal of 12%. Each bid must be accompanied by a Bid Security Deposit in the amount of five percent (5%) of the total amount of the bid. Bid security must be in the form of a bid bond or certified/ bank check, made payable to The County of Onondaga. Bids with inadequate bid security will be declared informal. Questions or inquiries should be submitted no later than February 7, 2024 and be directed in writing to the Div. of Purchase, Bernard Mahoney, bernardmahoney@ongov.net. Question Deadline : 02/09/2024 at 2:00 PM ET The Owner reserves the right to waive any bid informalities or to reject any or all bids.
