Site work and new construction of a transportation facility in Detroit Lakes, Minnesota. Completed plans call for the construction of a transportation facility; and for site work for a transportation facility.

Project Description: Construction of a new, metal hangar building located at the Detroit Lakes Airport. All associated site work surrounding the hangar building is under separate contract and not to be included. The proposed hangar building shall be constructed in a Design-Build method. Construction drawings and specifications have been provided to illustrate the intention of the project as a builders' set of information. Bidding contractors shall submit their bid based on a complete and fully operational building based on their means and methods by the timelines indicated, using industry best practices where applicable. Contractors will be required to adhere to all FAA and Department of Transportation regulations and policies while on the property. Sales Tax Exemption Notice: City of Detroit Lakes, being a tax exempt entity, will be accepting separate bids for materials and labor as required under state law to purchase materials and equipment tax exempt. Examination of Documents: Drawings, Specifications and other Contract Documents may be examined at the following locations: 1. Exchange Rooms: Fargo-Moorhead Builders Exchange, Fargo, ND Time of Completion: The completion date for this project is set at October 31st, 2024. If the project is not complete at that time, the Each Prime Contractor will pay to the Owner the sum of $5oo.oo/day after this date up to project completion. There will be no benefits to the Contractors for early completion of the project prior to date identified above. Bonding and Bidding Requirements: Each Contractor shall be required to provide a Performance Bond and a Material and Labor Payment Bond in the amount of 100 percent of the Contract Amount. Bid Security: Bids that shall be accompanied by Bid Security in the form of a certified check, cashier's check or bid bond in the amount of five (5%) percent of the Base Bid submitted, made payable to the Owner, as guarantee that the Bidder will, if awarded, enter into a Contract in accordance with Contract Documents and submitted bid. Wage Rate: A portion of the project will be subject to applicable requirements of the Minnesota Department of Labor and Industry - Prevailing Wages. Bidder's attention is specifically called to special requirements of minimum wage rates and records requirements of those acts. The Contractor must take affirmative action to ensure that employees and applicants for employment are not discriminated against because of their race, color, religion, sex, or national origin. All work associated with the concrete slab and slab prep referenced within Alternate A-i shall be applicable. The Owner reserves the right to reject any and all bids, to waive bidding irregularities and informalities there in, and further reserves the right to award the contract in a manner that, in its judgement, serves the best interest of the Owner.
