The proposed Work is generally described as follows: Central Cabarrus High School Parking LotImprovements- The improvements will include drainage, grading, base, and paving of a new approximately 36,000 SF parking lot. Female and minority firms are encouraged to submit bids for this project. Bidders are advised that Cabarrus County Schools has established a goal of 10 percent (10%) minority business enterprises as mandated by GS 136-28.4. The bidder shall identify in the bid documents the minority business participation it will use on the project. Forms are included in the bid documents for this purpose. Contractors must be licensed contractors with either Highway, Building, or Unclassified license in the State of North Carolina prior to being awarded this contract. All Subcontractors must also be licensed contractors in the State of North Carolina if in accordance with NC General Statue the work subcontracted required licensure. Bids will be received on a unit price basis. Bid security in an amount of 5% of the Bidders maximum Bid must accompany each Bid. The Successful Bidder will be required to furnish a Construction Performance Bond and a Construction Payment Bond as security for the faithful performance and the payment of all bills and obligations arising from the performance of the Contract. Contractor and all Subcontractors will be required to conform to the labor standards employment requirements set forth in the Contract Documents. North Carolina Department of Transportation Standard Specifications for Roads and Structures, dated January 2024, by reference, shall be used on this project.
