The Town of Garrett Park requests proposals (hereinafter, "Bid" or "Proposal") for the collection and disposal of trash/refuse, year-round yard waste, and eligible recyclable materials from properties within the Town, in accordance with the attached Contract documents. Services are to begin July 1, 2024. The Town of Garrett Park has approximately 1,000 residents living in about 365 single-family homes. Additionally, the contract executed with the awarded bidder would provide collection services to the following non-residential facilities in Garrett Park: the Garrett Park Town Hall (10814 Kenilworth Avenue), Garrett Park Community Center (home to the Garrett Park Nursery School Cooperative at 4812 Oxford Street), and the Garrett Park Town Office and the Garrett Park Post Office (both at 4600 Waverly Avenue). Collections for the Black Market Bistro (located at 4600 Waverly Avenue) are not part of the scope work and will not be part of the contract with the awarded bidder. The Black Market Bistro maintains an independent contract for collection services. As an Arboretum, the Town is home to over 2,000 trees. The Town has a separate contract for leaf collection from mid-October to mid-December, but there will still be yard waste generated during that season each year. Responsive and responsible bidders must account for this volume of yard waste in their bids. The Town seeks to award a three (3) year contract, beginning July 1, 2024, to a responsible and responsive bidder. Additionally, pricing for an optional three (3) year extension of services after the base contract is concluded is being sought.
