Renovation of a theater / auditorium in Durham, North Carolina. Completed plans call for the renovation of a theater / auditorium.
To qualify for this project, bidders must be certified to sell and install Edwards Fire and Life Safety brand systems. Underutilized Business Enterprise (UBE) goals: The Underutilized Business Enterprise (UBE) goals for this project are MBE 0% and WBE 0%. Bidders are responsible for filling out the required UBE Construction forms and including them in their bid package to be considered responsive. Bid Forms B. Non-collusion Affidavit C. Contractor Safety Record Information D. Contractor Workforce Diversity Questionnaire E. Equal Business Opportunity Program Construction Forms: 1. E-101 (UBE Participation On Base Bid) and 2. E-102 (UBE Participation On Bid Alternate if applicable) Any bids submitted without these completed forms may be deemed as "nonresponsive". If there are any questions or problems in filling out the UBE forms, please contact: City of Durham Finance Department (919) 560-4180 The City of Durham reserves the right to reject any or all bids, waive informalities, and/or accept such bid as appears in its judgement to be in the best interest of the City. Summary of Work: Edwards EST-4 Fire Alarm System Upgrade: The existing Edwards EST-3 fire alarm head-end system shall be replaced with a new complete Edwards EST-4 system including a main FACP (located in the Security office), zoned amplifiers/boosters, terminal cabinets and LCD touchscreen remote annunciator panel (located in main lobby). This will include reconnection of the building extension in adjacent ALOFT building (Presidents Club) to the new main panel located in DPAC. Firefighter Smoke Control Panel (FSCP): new code compliant Firefighter Smoke Control Panel (FSCP) to replace the existing outdated FSCP. FSCP will provide diagrammatic representation of the existing atrium smoke control system and will allow for the Fire Department and qualified staff to have complete control capability over the smoke-control system within the Security office. The new FSCP will include provisions for verification which include positive confirmation of actuation, testing, manual over-ride, the presence of power downstream of all disconnects, and disconnect switch positions. Smoke evacuation fans SEF-1, SEF-2 and SEF-3 shall be controlled by a "hand-off-auto" (HOA) switches located in the firefighter's smoke control panel. Loring will review the capability of the existing lobby entry door controllers which provide lobby make-up air and will provide control capability at FSCP via HOA switches and verification indications as required. Initiating Devices: New Smoke and Heat detectors will be indicated to replace existing devices in place, as necessary in compliance with NPFA 72. Where new initiating devices are required, or to be installed, existing raceways will be utilized where specified, and new locations as required to meet current code requirements.
