The City of Newport News is looking to establish a contract for a wide range of items, including, but not limited to, the items that are requested in this IFB (specifically listed in the Bid section). Additional items purchased through this contract would reasonably be considered as any and all HVAC/refrigeration/ventilation equipment, supplies, and repair parts.
A. Any product substitutions must be approved before an order is completed.
B. Delivery shall be completed within fourteen (14) calendar days from receipt of order. Exceptions may be made for certain less common or special order items, with City approval.
C. Contractor shall contact the City staff member who placed the order prior to delivery.
D. The City also requires the option of picking up items at a facility when it desires to do so. Bidder shall have a facility where items may be picked up within a thirty-five (35) mile radius of 513 Oyster Point Road, Newport News, VA 23602, in order to be considered for award.
E. Similar items, other than the ones explicitly listed in this IFB, may be required during the term of the contract. In the Catalog Discounts table in the Bid section of this IFB, Bidders shall list all manufacturers' catalogs of similar type items that their company can offer, and a minimum discount off list price that can be offered. This is not considered in award evaluation.
F. The items specified in this IFB are not intended to restrict Bidders. Bidders are encouraged to propose products which meet or exceed the specifications listed. Note: The Bidder shall clearly and specifically identify the product being offered, if different than listed, and enclose complete and detailed descriptive literature, catalog cuts, and specifications with the bid to enable the City to determine if the product offered meets the requirements of the solicitation. Failure to do so may cause the bid to be considered nonresponsive.
