The Forest Preserves is one of the oldest and largest units of local government dedicated tob acquiring and preserving open space in the United States. The Forest Preserves owns and manages nearly 70,000 acres and was established over one hundred years ago for the education, pleasure and recreation of the public. The Forest Preserves strives to protect and restore Cook County's diverse ecosystems so native plant and wildlife can live and thrive. Each year, millions of people use Forest Preserves lands and facilities as well as participate in a variety of free, organized events hosted by Forest Preserves staff The Forest Preserve's Living Wage ordinance mandates that a current minimum base wage per hour be paid to individuals employed under contracts between the Forest Preserves and any person or entity awarded a contract by the Forest Preserves or the subcontractor or any such person or entitythe living wage for Cook County was no less than $14.42 per hour if employee health benefits are provided to an employee whose health benefit contribution does not exceed 25% of the cost of the health benefit premium, otherwise $18.03 per hour. The Forest Preserves has established an ordinance to ensure the full and equitable participation of Minority- and Women-Owned Business in Enterprises ("MBE/WBEs") in the Forest Preserve's procurement process. To that end, the Forest Preserves has established Annual Aspirational Goals for the utilization of MBE/WBEs for this contract of 10% aggregate for MBE/WBE. The goal will be assessed on an on-going basis during the course of the contract. The Forest Preserves reserves the right to reject any and all proposals, to waive any informality in the statement of qualifications and, unless otherwise specified by the firm, to accept any item in the statement. The Forest Preserves also reserves the right to accept or reject all or part of yoursubmission material, in any combination that is economically advantageous to the Forest Preserves.
