Reference Number 0000340877 Renovations of the Yaphank Probation Building Boiler Room No. C110 PROJECT OVERVIEW: THE YAPHANK PROBATION / FRES BUILDING IS EQUIPPED WITH A HOT WATER HEATING SYSTEM. CURRENTLY THERE IS A SINGLE BOILER, (4) HOT WATER ZONE PUMPS AND (1) STAND-BY ZONE PUMP. ALL OF THE EQUIPMENT LISTED HAS EXCEEDED ITS USEFUL SERVICE LIFE AND ARE IN NEED OF REPLACEMENT. IN ADDITION, THE BUILDING IS EQUIPPED WITH A LARGE INDIRECT WATER HEATER. THE CURRENT EQUIPMENT IS BOTH ENERGY INEFFICIENT & DUE TO ITS CONFIGURATION LIMITS THE ABILITY OF EQUIPMENT TO BE PROPERLY MAINTAINED BECAUSE THE BOILER MUST BE RUN YEAR ROUND IN ORDER TO SUPPLY POTABLE HOT WATER THROUGHOUT THE BUILDING. THE PROPOSED RENOVATION WILL REPLACE THE EXISTING BOILER, BASE-MOUNTED ZONE PUMPS AND INDIRECT WATER HEATER WITH (2) NEW FULLY REDUNDANT HEATING BOILERS SET UP IN A LEAD-LAG CONFIGURATION, NEW ZONE PUMPS AND A NEW GAS-FIRED WATER HEATER THAT WILL PROVIDE POTABLE HOT WATER INDEPENDENTLY FROM THE HEATING SYSTEM. PROJECT COMPLETION IT IS INTENDED THAT THE WORK UNDER THIS PROJECT TO BE COMPLETED SUBSTANTIALLY WITHIN 270 DAYS AFTER ISSUANCE OF THE SERVICE CONTRACT BUT WILL CONTINUE UNTIL COMPLETE.
