Site work and paving for a mixed-use development in Pleasanton, California. Completed plans call for site work for a road / highway; sidewalk / parking lot; for paving for a sidewalk / parking lot; and water / sewer project.

Reference Number 0000341246 This work will consist of removing existing southeast and southwest concrete channelizing medians, removing an existing flashing crosswalk, construction of concrete curb extensions (bulb-outs) at the southeast and southwest curbs, installing minor landscaping and irrigation, constructing Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) curb ramps, and installing a traffic signal. Electrical work would compose of: protection of existing utilities and appurtenances; the installation of foundations, pole standards, mast arms, signal display equipment, luminaires, lamps, underground conduits, pull boxes, cables and conductors; the bonding and grounding of circuitry, the installation of electrical services; excavating and backfilling, installing signing on traffic signal standards; traffic control; and all other necessary an any other not of work not mentioned above that are required by the Plans and these Special Provisions. General Requirements - Certified Payroll - Contractors License Required - Insurance Required - Prevailing Wage Required Bonding Requirements - Bid Bond 10 % - Performance Bond 100 % - Maintenance Bond 10 % - Labor and Materials Bond 100 % -- Each Bid Proposal shall be accompanied by either cash, a cashier's check or a certified check, amounting to not less than ten percent of the bid, payable to the order of the City of Pleasanton or by a bond for that amount and payable in the form contained in this bid package. The successful Bidder will be required to furnish performance and payment bonds, each in an amount not less than one hundred percent (100%) of the contract price, and a maintenance bond not less than ten percent (10%) of the contract price. Bidder shall pay as liquidated damages in the sum of $1,500.00 per working day should the successful Bidder fail to complete the work within this time limit unless the successful Bidder is granted a time extension. Bidder shall agree to commence work under this Contract within fifteen (15) calendar days after the date of written "Notice to Proceed" (NTP) and fully complete the project within 130 working days after start of work. *The Engineer's cost estimate for the project is $1,053,333 *The City reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to determine which bid is, in the City's judgment, the lowest responsive and responsible bid of a Bidder or group of Bidders. The City also reserves the right to waive any inconsequential omissions or discrepancies in any bid and to delete certain items listed in the bid as set forth therein. Costs for developing, submitting, and presenting bids are the sole responsibility of the Bidder and claims for reimbursement will not be accepted by the City.
