Site work and paving for a mixed-use development in Norwalk, Connecticut. Completed plans call for site work for a road / highway; for paving for a road / highway; sidewalk / parking lot; and sidewalk / parking lot.
The work covered under this item includes furnishing all labor, equipment, materials, and incidentals necessary to perform all operations in connection with excavating and backfilling by machine and/or by hand exploratory test pits at locations indicated or directed by the Engineer. The purpose of the test pits is for locating and examining soils, groundwater, drains, pipes, rocks, utilities, structure foundations, or any other obstacles a. The work for this contract will include replace/install ADA Ramps, replace existing curb and sidewalks, and install new curb and sidewalks to fill gaps in preparation for our paving program and that do not comply with the City of Norwalk Standards. The City may add or eliminate locations depending on the availability of funds and to prepare areas for paving. b. The following areas are considered part of project scope: Local Streets - Berkeley Street, Elm Street, Arch Street, and Lynes Place. c. To match existing conditions, minimize transitions, and stay in the ROW, the contractor shall take elevations and layout sidewalks to meet ADA requirements, City Roadway Standards, and City Standard Details. d. Once the Contractor is ready, a walkthrough to define the scope at each location must be scheduled with the Project Administrator to have the proposed lay-out approved, prior to any construction taking place. During construction additional walkthroughs may be required where grades conflict or before transitions become extensive This project includes, but is not limited to providing all labor, materials, supervision, etc. for the Berkeley Area curb and sidewalk contract. The awarded bidder is also responsible for most incidentals related to this work, such as traffic control, driveway or walk replacement, resetting structures, & replacing vegetation as necessary, etc. Question Deadline 02/20/2024 at 2:00 PM ET
