Design and Construction of a new, single-story Secure Housing Unit (SHU) at the Port Isabel Service Processing Center (SPC) in Los Fresnos, TX The project consists of 26 modular cells, two of which must comply with Architectural Barriers Act (ABA) Standards; three-day rooms; three ABA-compliant showers; detainee search; storage spaces; security office control room; desk officer office; vestibules; recreation yards; and all associated spaces in accordance with the floor plan in Appendix A. The new building must be architecturally compatible with other structures on the SPC campus. The existing campus layout and map for the SPC and its known existing utility's locations may be found on the maps contained in Appendix A. (Optional) Design and renovation of the existing Building 37 to accommodate a new laundry operation - The project requires the design and renovation of an existing warehouse building to accommodate a laundry operation. The mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems within the building will be upgraded as need to accommodate the new commercial sized washers and dryers. The roofing will be replaced with a standing seem metal roof. Rusted and deteriorated flashing shall be replaced in order to provide roofing warranty as required. The perimeter and interior fencing will be modified to meet security needs.
