Renovation of a laboratory facility in Ames, Iowa. Completed plans call for the renovation of a 78,805-square-foot laboratory facility.
This project proposes an addition to the currently under-construction Veterinary Diagnostic Laboratory (VDL) Building, providing approximately 78,805 gsf of additional space to co-locate the remaining testing sections of the laboratory, diagnostic research activities, and administrative staff with the front-end sample processing and receiving functions of the lab. Questions regarding the scope of work should be directed to the Design Professional. Project Information: Substantial Completion: 935 Days (Approximately October 10, 2026) Final Completion: 995 Days (Approximately December 9, 2026) Bid Estimate: $43,482,000.00 Bid security shall be agreed upon as the measure of liquidated damages which the Owner will sustain by failure, neglect or refusal of bidder to deliver a signed contract stipulating performance of the Work in unqualified compliance with Contract Documents. Successful bidder will be required to furnish a Contract Performance and Payment Bond in the amount of 100% of the contract sum within ten (10) days after receipt of Notice of Award. By virtue of statutory authority, a preference will be given to products and provisions grown and coal produced within the state of Iowa. The Board of Regents, State of Iowa, reserves the right to reject any and all bids, to waive irregularities and to accept that bid which is deemed in the best interest of the Owner The certified Iowa Targeted Small Business participation goal for this project is 10% of the base bid
