The project consists of: 1. Alterations scope at Bldg. A Staff Lounge, Conference Room, and Restrooms to upgrade interior finishes and accessibility compliance. 2. Alterations scope at Bldg. B Career Center Reception, Lounge, and Restrooms to upgrade interior finishes and accessibility compliance. 3. Alterations scope at Mosaic Café Serving Area, Dining Room, Staff Office, Storage, and Restrooms to upgrade interior finishes and accessibility and egress compliance. 4. Campus site work to upgrade accessible path of travel serving areas of work. Each Bidder submitting bid or proposal to complete the work, labor, materials and/or services ("Work") subject to this procurement must be a Department of Industrial Relations registered contractor pursuant to Labor Code 1725.5 ("DIR Registered Contractor"). A Bidder who is not a DIR Registered Contractor when submitting a proposal for the Work is deemed "not qualified" and the proposal of such a Bidder will be rejected as non-responsive. Pursuant to Labor Code 1725.5, all "District Prequalified" contractors identified in a Bidder's Subcontractors' List shall be DIR Registered Contractors. If awarded the Contract for the Work, at all times during performance of the Work, the Bidder and all Subcontractors, of any tier, shall be DIR Registered. Prevailing Wages: Prevailing wage requirements apply to all public works projects. All subcontractors at every tier shall pay laborers performing any portion of work on the Project not less than the prevailing wage rate established for the labor provided. Skilled and Trained Workforce Requirements: All subcontractors at every tier must use Skilled and Trained Workforce to perform all work on this Project that falls within an apprenticeable occupation in the building and construction trades in accordance with Public Contract Code section 2600 et seq. Disabled Veteran Business Enterprises ("DVBE") Participation: C.W. Driver is requesting bids for all trades from DVBE subcontractors. Section 17076.11 of the Education Code requires school districts using, or planning to use, funds allocated pursuant to the State of California School Facilities Program for the construction and/or modernization of school buildings to have a participation goal for Disabled Veteran Business Enterprises of at least three percent (3%) per year of the overall dollar amount expended each year by the school district on projects that receive state funding.
