As of August 7, 2025, per owner, this project is only in preliminary design. Engineer has been identified. Project is expected to bid October 1, 2025. The City of Gladstone is requesting proposals and qualifications from professional engineering firms to assist in the design of transmission main upgrades including a parallel 24-inch main under 1-29 (1,500-feet) and the relocation of 24-inch main (500- feet) in the vicinity of N. Broadway and NW Englewood Road to a manageable depth. The City of Gladstone is located north of the Missouri River and encompassed by Kansas City, Missouri. The City has a population of approximately 27,000 people spread over 9 square miles. The City operates and maintains its own 7.5-MGD lime softening water treatment plant, two (2) water towers, one (1) ground storage tank and pump station, and over 120-miles of water mains ranging in size from 4-inch to 24-inch in diameter. Broadway and NW Englewood Road to a manageable depth. 1. Review existing reports and studies as necessary. 2. Complete any field surveying as necessary to complete the design. 3. Complete the detailed design of improvements incorporating input from industry experts regarding constructability due to the proximity to the interstate system. 4. Obtain all necessary construction permits from the Missouri Department of Natural Resources and the Missouri Department of Natural Resources. 5. Assist with the City with bidding and construction services as necessary.
