The Mercer County Board of Education is requesting bids to provide all work, including but not limited to labor, material, equipment, supplies and transportation for creating a new parking area at Princeton High/Princeton Primary Schools. A satisfactory bid bond furnished by a solvent surety company authorized to do business in the State of West Virginia in an amount equal to five (5%) of the total amount of the bid, payable to the Mercer County Board of Education, shall be submitted with the bid. The successful bidder and all subcontractors will be required to furnish a satisfactory Performance and Payment Bond, other requirements are detailed in the bid package. SCOPE OF WORK: The new parking area is approximately 61,498 square feet. a. The area is to have approximately 5" of topsoil removed and then firmly packed. b. The Board will have the option of retaining the topsoil or having the contractor haul it away. If the topsoil is retained, the soil will need to be taken to the Maintenance Lot near Pikeview High School. This option will be included on the Bid Response Form. c. Landscape fabric is to be installed under the entire parking area d. Area is to then receive 3" of #2 stone, and 2" of #1 stone. A total stone depth of 5" e. The stone must be WVDOH approved limestone product. f. All costs related to the project, including but not limited to costs required to ensure positive drainage, must be included in bid submission
