Site work and paving for a mixed-use development in Farmington, Connecticut. Completed plans call for site work for a road / highway; for paving for a road / highway; sidewalk / parking lot; sidewalk / parking lot; and water / sewer project.
**As of April 3, 2024 project was awarded to Colossale Concrete,, awarded amount is $2,476,063.80 .** Prior to the public opening of the bids, any bid submitted may be withdrawn by the bidder. Any such bid withdrawal may be made without penalty or prejudice. After the bids are opened, all bids will be considered firm for a period of ninety (90) days and no bid may be withdrawn for any reason during that period except for such cause as the Town of Farmington, at its sole discretion, deems sufficient. The project consists of providing all labor, equipment, and materials necessary for full-depth pavement reconstruction of approximately 4,200 feet of Burlington Road, from Burlington town line to Plainville Avenue (RT-177). Work includes removal of existing pavement and base material, installation of processed aggregate, subbase, and bituminous concrete; installation of curbing; driveway reconstruction; topsoil and turf establishment; replacement and installation of catch basins and drainage infrastructure; pavement markings; and other work as described in the Contract Documents. Contractor shall be responsible for payment of not less than the State prevailing wage rates, as specified in the Contract Documents. Each BID shall be accompanied by a certified check, bid bond, treasurer's check or cashier's check issued by a responsible bank, trust or surety company made payable to the Town of Farmington in an amount equal to five percent (5%) of the Bidder's BID. Any addendum acknowledgment shall also be submitted with the bid. Interested persons may examine the bid documents at the Engineering Office at Town Hall, 1 Monteith Drive, Farmington, CT 06032, during the hours of 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, except holidays. Refunds will not be issued for returned sets. Bidders must obtain bid documents directly from the Town Finance Office in order to be eligible to bid on this project. Questions regarding the project should be addressed in writing to Dylan Reilly, Civil Engineer, Department of Public Works, Town of Farmington, 1 Monteith Drive, Farmington, CT 06032 and must be submitted no later than nine (9) calendar days before the bid opening date. The contract will be awarded to the lowest responsible and qualified bidder whose bid is the lowest of those bidders possessing the skill, ability, and integrity necessary to perform the work in good faith. This contract is also subject to State of Connecticut set-aside and contract compliance requirements, including non-discrimination statutes and set-aside requirements. State law requires a minimum of twenty-five (25%) of the state-funded portion of the contract to be set aside for award to subcontractors holding current certification from the Connecticut Department of Administrative Services. The contractor must also demonstrate a good faith effort to meet the 25% set-aside goals. An Affirmative Action/Equal Opportunity Employer.
