Site work and paving for a mixed-use development in Lewis Center, Ohio. Completed plans call for site work for a road / highway; and for paving for a road / highway.
This is a single prime lump sum bid for the 2024 District Wide Paving Improvements at the Olentangy Local School District. See the attached Drawings and specifications for the extent of the Work. The term Work means the construction and services required by the Contract Documents, whether completed or partially completed, and includes all other labor, materials, equipment, and services provided or to be provided by the Contractor to fulfill the Contractor's obligations. The Work may constitute the whole or a part of the Project. The Contractor acknowledges and agrees that the Contract Documents are sufficient to provide for the completion of the Work and include Work, whether or not shown or described, which reasonably may be inferred to be required or useful for the completion of the Work in accordance with applicable laws, codes, and customary standards of the industry. Site visits will need to be made independently at each site location for field verification. Please note that the Drawings are not to scale. The following additional plan rooms: The Builders Exchange of Central Ohio, 1175 Dublin Road, Columbus, Ohio 43215. Bond Notes :All bids must be accompanied by a Bid Guaranty in the form of either a Bid Guaranty and Contract Bond for the full amount of the bid (including all add alternates) or a certified check, cashier's check, or an irrevocable letter of credit in an amount equal to 10% of the bid (including all add alternates), as described in the Instructions to Bidders. Bonds shall be signed by an authorized agent of an acceptable Surety Bonding Company and by the bidder. (Affix Corporate Seals to each copy). Surety Bonding Company bonds shall be supported by credentials showing the Power of Attorney of the agent, and a certificate showing the legal right of the Bonding Company to do business in the State of Ohio, and a financial statement of the Surety. No Bidder may withdraw its bid within 60 days after the bid opening. Owner Rights: The Board of Education reserves the right to waive irregularities in bids, to reject any or all bids, and to conduct such investigation as necessary to determine the responsibility of a bidder. The Owner reserves the right to issue addenda changing, altering, or supplementing the Contract Documents, at any time prior to the time set for receiving bids. The Owner retains the right to include or exclude work required by alternates for the sums established exercisable within 60 days from and including the date of signing the Contract. The Owner reserves the right to delay the time for opening of bids when, in his judgment, it is desirable or necessary. The Owner reserves the right to reject each and every bid, to waive formalities and informalities in bidding, to accept and reject alternates regardless of their order or sequence, unless otherwise called for on the Bid Form. The Owner has the right to reject bids not accompanied by a required bid security or by other data required by the Bidding Documents, or a Bid which is in any way incomplete or irregular is subject to rejection. The right is reserved to reject a bid where an investigation of the available evidence of information does not satisfy the Owner that the bidder is qualified to properly carry out the terms of the Contract Documents. The Notice To Bidders indicates the time and place fixed for opening bids. If stipulated in the Invitation, the properly identified Bids received on time will be publicly opened and will be read aloud. An abstract of the Bids may be made available to Bidders. Bids received after that time will be returned unopened. Bids will be stamped showing the date and time received. TIME OF COMMENCEMENT AND COMPLETION : The Contractor shall commence Work within 10 days after the effective date of the Contract, or when notified in writing to proceed, and shall complete the Work within the time limitations established in the Form of Agreement and these Instructions To Bidders. The information and schedule dates shown below are included to aid the Contractors in anticipating manpower and equipment requirements. Work hours are Monday through Saturday from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. The following Sequence of Construction is based upon releasing documents on February 6, 2024,awarding contracts within 30 days of bid date: beginning Construction Work on May 30, 2024, and completing all work on August 1, 2024, except as stated below. Contingency Allowance : Include a Contingency Allowance in the sum of $75,000.00 for use according to the Owner's instructions for asphalt base repair or other Owner directed issues if required. ESTIMATE OF COST : The base bid estimate of cost for the Project is $930,000.00 (includes $75,000.00 contingency allowance).
