The Project includes a proposed trail that has a slightly undulating alignment to avoid mature trees, two spur pathways leading into features within the sports complex, and cut/fill excavation and embanks to build to the designed trail grade. The proposed Class 1 trail is 10 feet-wide, with 2-foot shoulders on each side (14 feet total width) and approximately 1,200 feet long and will have an aggregate base road shoulder along the west side and an infiltration trench installed along the east side. A rock berm on the north end to reduce the grade transition on the slope at the Legacy Trail spur connection. A connector pathway located between the playing fields will provide access into the middle of the park and a bench, interpretative signage, and bike racks will be installed at this junction. Trail traffic control improvements in the form of stop signs and chicanes are included to the southern part of the connection to calm bike traffic approaching the park entrance at Joerger Drive. Solar lighting along the trail will also provide lighting where deemed necessary.
